The JMJ Junior College for Girls is located on the NH 214, Gudivada Road; Hanuman Junction, West Godavari District, Andhra Pradesh. Many villages are surrounded Hanuman Junction and it is economically and socially backward area. Most of the young girls could not pursue their higher education due to lack of colleges with residential facilities. Seeing their sad plight, the compassionate late bishop Rt. Rev. Joseph Thumma requested J.M.J sisters to start a college for girls and generously offered 5 acres of land. Thus, Jyothi High School was upgraded into J.M.J Junior College for Girls in 1994 with an initial strength of 84 students. The college strength grew gradually to 540, the current year. The rich and intelligent students go to the corporate residential colleges where the poor and below average students get the opportunity to study in our J.M.J. Junior College.
In 1997, a building was constructed for both college and hostel with all facilities, till then the Junior college was in the Jyothi High School primes. During admission priority is given to the students who are economically, educationally and socially underprivileged. Most of our students belong to the backward classes in the society who depend on Government scholarship for education as well as boarding and lodging.
The Management and the Staff strive to obtain good result and success in all-round development of the students. We are trying to accomplish the vision of late bishop Rt. Rev.Thumma Joseph to educate the poor girls of these rural areas. We affirm that along with our dedicated staff will offer quality education to the young girls.

Hence at this Intermediate level, our primary aim is to develop in the student qualities of integrity, honesty, trust, tolerance and compassion, a spirit of equity, foster a scientific temper within the bonds of humanism, help the student to become a meaningful part of her environment, encourage positive attitudes to learning and principally instill intellectual excellence in the students.
All those who enter this campus namely JMJ Junior College for Girls feel at home and experience the values of Jesus We esteem at the interest of the every well-wishers, dedicated services of the sisters which developed the college towards par excellence. The main focus of this college is: to shape and frame the character of young along with their education and above all, motivate the parents and students to achieve the goals. We are grateful to our Superior General and Provincial Councils for their massive contribution and generosity towards the infrastructure and spacious ground for the poor students.
Our college grows from strength to strength both in quality, excellence and quantity through the visionary leadership and instrumentality of our sisters Principals, Correspondents, Clerks, Wardens etc, in the steady progress of the college. Our sisters had laid strong academic foundations and nurtured the traditions of brilliance. Memorial prizes were given by the management for the best out going students for the most stupendous performance in IPE Examinations.
The academic year 2019-2020 stands out as a significant and memorable milestone in the history of the J.M.J Junior College for Girls as it enters into eventful year of twenty-five since its foundation in July 1994. It will be officially designated as the Silver Jubilee Year of the college. This major event will be planned meticulously and impressively. We are deeply indebted to the J.M.J Sisters, teaching and non-teaching staff who had served the institution with exemplary devotion, commitment, contributed to the growth of JMJ and left an indelible imprint on the history of institution.
Separate hostel facilities are provided for our students in the campus .Three by fourth of the college students seek admission in the hostels. In the hostel there are 55rooms and each room accommodates 6students.A recreation hall cum study hall with facilities like TV, News Paper, Indoor Games are provided.
